Chaque année, en février-mars, les festivités du carnaval de São Vicente, au Cap-Vert, animent les rues de Mindelo, la ville principal de l'île. Les écoliers, les professeurs et la Samba Tropical ouvrent les festivités, avant le grand défilé du Mardi Gras, qui réunit - le plus souvent - quatre groupes.
J'ai eu la chance d'assister à ce spectacle à trois reprises. Ces photos ont été prises lors de l'édition 2019, lors de mon dernier voyage au Cap-Vert, et mettent en lumière les groupes de Monte Sossego, Flores do Mindelo, Estrela do Mar et Cruzeiros do Norte.
Every year, in February-March, the festivities of the carnival of São Vicente, Cape Verde, livens up the streets of Mindelo, the main city of the island. Schoolchildren, teachers and Samba Tropical dancers open the celebrations, before the big Mardi Gras parade that usually brings together four carnival groups.
I had the chance to attend this show three times. These photos were taken during the 2019 edition, during my last trip to Cape Verde, and highlight the groups of Monte Sossego, Flores do Mindelo, Estrela do Mar and Cruzeiros do Norte.
